Tianmen Mountain – The Gate of Heaven
Mount Tianmen is a separate site within Zhangjiajie-Wulingyuan National Park. Its main access point is in Zhangjiajie City, at the lower station of the Grand Cable Car.
Understanding the site
The visit to Tianmen Mountain is organized around several areas allowing you to discover the spectacular landscapes of the mountain.
The summit
Two walkway circuits run along the impressive summit cliffs: the West Circuit, approximately 2.8 km long, and the East Circuit, approximately 3.7 km long. They offer numerous panoramic viewpoints as well as suspended walkways and several glass sections. It is not necessary to walk both circuits in their entirety.
Tianmen Cave – The Gate of Heaven
This immense natural arch carved into the mountain is one of the iconic sites of Tianmen Mountain. Located below the summit plateau, it is connected to the summit by a series of seven escalators built inside the mountain.
The 999 Steps
The famous "Heavenly Staircase," consisting of 999 steps, connects the plaza at the foot of Tianmen Cave to the entrance of Heaven's Gate. Escalators also allow access to part of this route.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge
The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a separate site within the Zhangjiajie-Wulingyuan National Forest Park. The visit combines the famous Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, several attractions located on the heights, and a walking trail through the heart of the canyon.
From Rainbow Square, the trail gradually follows the watercourse through waterfalls, cliffs, pools and caves, to Shenquan Lake and the exit of the site.
Namely
Different tickets and itineraries do not necessarily grant access to the same attractions. Some activities, such as zip lines, virtual reality experiences, slides, or elevators, may be optional or dependent on operating conditions that day.
Yellow Dragon Cave Huanglong Cave
The Yellow Dragon Cave (Huanglong Cave) is one of the most important developed karst systems in Zhangjiajie. The tour takes you through vast underground chambers, among stalactites, stalagmites and spectacular rock formations.
Part of the journey is done by boat on the Xiangshui River, before continuing on foot through the various rooms and galleries of the cave.
Namely
The route includes many stairs and wet sections. Wear good shoes and bring a light jacket, as the temperature inside the cave remains cool year-round.
